What we do
Beacon is a not-for-profit ministry supporting a growing network of house churches. Led by Nick Sefton, Beacon focuses on serving existing house church leaders, prospective house church planters, and their gatherings. Our outreach ranges from planter peer group meetings to one-on-one support. We do not require financial commitment in order to participate, nor do we ask for positional authority over a leader or particular church.
We are not an organization asking for a % of your giving
We are not looking to add numbers to our network
We are not interested in you simply joining an association
Beacon is for those of you who don’t want to go at it alone.
We desire to build face-to-face relationships with healthy New Testament house churches throughout the Midwest. Our ministry functions in the same way we believe house churches are meant to function—relationally.
Beacon offers:
One-on-One Meetings
Interest and dialogue meetings for potential house church leaders, donors, or disciples
Ongoing discipling and coaching meeting of current and future house church leaders
Planter Peer Groups to build and promote unity and connection
Planter Prayer Groups to mutually lift up house church needs
Round Table Discussions for current and future house church planters
House Church Roundtables to resolve matters impacting house churches (see Council of Jerusalem)
Group Meetings
Working with Planters in their marriages and families to facilitate safe relationships
Family & Community Care
Facilitating larger periodic gatherings to celebrate unity in the body of Christ
Celebration Gatherings
(Beginning January 2020) Providing accounting and distribution of funds for non-tax exempt house churches to free churches from forming boards, reporting to the state, providing year-end giving reports, and other administrative matters
